Cat litter box is driving me insane

I’m actually going mad.

I hate it!! I hate everytime she goes to the loo the litter goes everywhere and ends up dragged everywhere! I have tried numerous litters and have found the best one that works for our needs but it goes everywhere! The only one that didn’t she didn’t like and I couldn’t stand the sound of her scraping it.

She has a hooded box but without the door as she couldn’t figure it out.

It’s in our dining room in the corner as we have nowhere else to put it.

I was thinking of getting some sort of cat litter furniture?

We are planning on welcoming a dog in the summer and I’m worried she/he will eat the litter too 🙈

Have you tried a box, with a entrance hole in the lid?

Will,stop the dog eating the poo as well!

Wood pellets aren’t spread as much as litter with my cats

Ohh il try the box with a hole on top.

We tried wood pellets but the smell was bad :(

A vote for the extreme clumping litters from me, such as Tigerino canada clay. Absorb 350% more and no smell.

Expensive, but Modkat litter box works really well.

We have a covered, full enclosed litter box as ours wold kick the litter all over the floor. It has an entrance a bit like a cat flap, and we put a cheap litter mat in front of it. Now we only get a tiny a,punt of litter outside the box, and the mat catches virtually all of it as they walk out of the box.

I tried the extreme clumping from ever clean and that was probably one of the worst ones! It was fab clumping but absolutely when everywhere, even clumps of poo!

I had a top entry box it was brilliant. Though Cheddar could t work it out skit went. The honeycomb mats are very good as well.

Don't get a Modkat they are a rip off!

We have a Modkat flip, Worlds Best litter and a little mat. I probably only get a tiny bit of litter on the carpet once a week

Do you sit the litter box / way in on a plastic litter tray mat ?
We find that helps a lot .

Ever clean is still quite big granules I think? The canada ones are more like sand. I've seven cats, plus helped in rescue catteries and tried most litters, the Tigerino/intersand classic types definitely help. That’s the type of tray we have.

I’m currently using my favourite litter which is the sanicat orange and vanilla.

I’m going to try a mat under it :)

Oh and re the dog eating out of the litter tray, ours are trained not to now, but initially we set up a gate similar to a baby gate to stop access, we have v.large dogs though, so this may not work with a small breed, but trellis or something similar may?

We use worlds best for zooplus website, its great. We've got hooded that and a rubber mat on the way catches practically all the litter

We use Cats Best , a lidded tray and a honeycomb rubber mat .
Seems to be the best option we've tried .
Cat tray in the hall so they have peace but yes , we have to get to it quickly

We tried 3 trays , 2 trays etc , trays in the understair cupboard with a cat flap . The hall works best for them.

And I am pretty confident my cats don't shit in NDN garden because they stride into the house purposefully to use the tray and scratch the inside of the walls to let us know .

Try an Iris litter box. It’s a £25 version of the Modkat, and better looking. I have two, and use them with Cat’s Best litter and a honeycomb mat. Still get a little tracking, but the grooved lid gets most of it and the mat the rest.

Ours isn't messy but we have just put his litter tray outside the back door (under cover) because I don't want the house to smell. He looked a bit miffed at first but he is using it.
