Hi everyone. Just posting on here for some moral support and hopeful stories anyone can provide. Our lovely little 12 year old boy cat Denzel has been awol since last Tuesday 22nd, we are now on the 8th day of him being gone. It's been a pretty rough week over Christmas, and I can't bear the thought that we might never see him again.
It's really out of character for him to go for this long - he is usually an 'out and back in within an hour' kind of cat, so I presume something has happened to either scare him or stop him from coming back like being trapped somewhere. On the evening he was let out, my parents' neighbours had some tree surgeons over with awood chipper, which I'm guessing scared him into running away or hiding somewhere unusual. Knowing that gives me some hope that he is nearby (as opposed to hurt) but given it's been so long now I just don't understand whats happened to him. He's notmuch of a hunter, and I'm terrified about how he is coping with the -2C temperatures at the moment.
We have been leafletting all the surrounding houses and beyond since Christmas eve, have told local vets, rescue centres, and done the social media stuff. My mum went to respond to the only call we have had two days ago, which was about a similar looking cat having been run over a couple miles away in town. Luckiy it wasn't him, although still obviousy extremely upsetting knowing that someones cat was killed by a car
.
Just looking for some good stories and any tips people might have that heped them get their puss-cats back, especially in winter!
