Panicking at cat behaviours

Resident cat appears to be playing with kitten. Or wants to eat it. I don't know any more.

But kitten is absolutely tiny - like a baby squirrel, frail, naff all fur, I mean small. Vet said looked like 6 weeks not 9, when she had her jabs.

So I'm so worried when he bundles her around and does that thing where she's on her back under his body. My stress is through the roof.

I have the opportunity to "lodge" her at my DPs for a few weeks - would it be fairer all round to let her grow bigger and older before reintroducing them?

Lovely description! Sounds to me as if they are getting on just fine! The kitten doesn't look at all timid despite her small size. In the picture of the two of them, he looks as if he was going to pounce on her and doesn't look phased by her at all. His ears are pricked up and forward that means he's interested.

Just make sure that they have separate food bowls. I feed mine slightly apart as the kitten is fond of stuffing his head into bigger cat's bowl and big cat will let him. Big cat is not averse to sneaking kitten food if we're not watching. I feed big cat on the windowsill and kitten on the floor.

They share a water fountain and there are two litter trays. If they don't have to compete for resources it will be less stressful.
