Waiting patiently for our rescue cat

Just to talk about waiting for cats to join your family and the yearning.

After losing our cat in Spring we swore we would wait a few years before getting another. But the house was too sad without a cat, and a mouse problem eventually appeared. 15 years and we never had mice in our old holey houses. 6 months without a cat and they nibble at my prepper supplies 🙄

So we took the plunge In November and contacted the shelter, who have a perfect cat for us. We offered to take her kittens too so they stay together but they are reserved. The cat is a friendly stray who had her kittens in a garden shed and then even adopted a lone kitten they put in with her at the shelter
We are totally in love with her and happy to wait. She had giardia when found living wild, and then the kittens had a bacterial skin infection. They all had to be treated and now the giardia are back because the bathing was so stressful. ☹️
We are using the time to prepare the house and have bought new cat beds etc. and food and toys.
Hopefully the giardia will be gone - we have kids and the shelter is very careful sending cats to homes with children.
Just hoping she will come really. Black with a white patch on her chest, undernourished and eats like crazy, scrawny and under 2 years old. Very lovely and brave and tough. Hope she comes to us in the new year then I can post a picture 🐈
