Finding the best cat/kitten food

Hello, years ago there used to be a site that rated brands of cat/dog food (unbiased). Told you what was in them etc but I can't find it anymore? Anyone remember the website? I'm trying to find a good high quality, grain free cat food.....

I’d recommend Lily’s Kitchen and Blink

Thank you. I’ve heard Lily’s kitchen contains something that is not great for cats with IBD but will look at the other one.

@Poorlykitten we have an older cat with IBS. He is better on Lilly's Kitchen. Applaws did him no good but is a good choice as well overall, just not for our boy. Orijen is another really good one. Anything grain-free and 65%meat plus is good.

For a healthy adult cat the best is high protein low carbs no grain. For other older or special needs there are alternatives, but that's more a case-to-case.

It's a shop rather than an independent website, but on Zooplus you can filter to show only grain-free food, and all the ingredients are given in detail so you can exclude the rubbish stuff.

Thank you. I’ll look into those. I’ve tried applaws but he’s not interested.....

Orijen cat and kitten is fab. Smells like fish food, tiny dry dark pellets, but very high in protein and low in carbs. Easy for even a kitten to crunch.

My 10 year old rag doll's coat practically doubled in size after a few months on it and she looks more fabulous now than she has on anything else i've given her in her whole life.

I think for IBD that wet food is always preferred so will try and find some of that but thanks for suggestion! Smile

On Petforums under Cat health/nutrition there is a very good pinned thread called the zooplus good food list.

Thank you. That looks great.
