Naughty cat - does he need a brother?

DCat has always had a friend - it used to be the cat over the road, then when he moved house we got a kitten to keep him company. They scrapped a bit but never rough, and would sleep side by side quite happily after a while.
Tragically our baby boy was killed in a road accident in September. Our hearts are broken.
Ever since big boy hasn’t stopped scratching the furniture and pestering for dreamies. Baby boy never scratched the furniture - he was scratch post only. He was crazy in his own way, and totally fearless, but not naughty really.
When I think of how long it took them to settle in to being playmates, and that big boy is older now at 4, I wonder if a new kitten is such a good idea?
They are BSH if that makes any difference. I have them because I’m not allergic to their breed.

Well he sounds a sociable sort & a good breeder would be able to tell which of their cats are natural wingmen. You can but try.

Can you cat proof your garden before hand?

You might want to try a female, they may scrap less
