Pet insurance question

This is probably a really stupid question, but I'm not sure if my cat is still covered for an ongoing issue.

I adopted him on 24 October and got 1 month free insurance with Pet Plan under an agreement they have with the rescue. About a week after I got him he developed an ear infection and has been to the vet twice. The vet put in a claim under Pet Plan and they've paid out.

I then bought Animal Friends insurance to take effect when the PP one expired on 24 November.

Cat's ear is still not right so I need to go back again... neither insurer will cover him for further treatment, right? PP because the policy expired, and AF because it was a pre-existing condition when their policy came into effect on 24 November?

I arranged the AF one before he got the ear infection and now I'm kicking myself!

Have you tried to put a claim in? We had PetPlan insurance as like you we got the first month free after adopting and just let it continue.

Depending on the type of insurance you had with PP they would have paid for the treatment up to a year. If you have cancelled the policy they won’t.

AF might but if it’s an existing condition there’s a chance it will be rejected. You can always try.

PetPlan were really good. Our cat had a lot of issues and they always paid.

Well actually, if you arranged the AF before the first treatment it might change things. You might as well try!
