Our poor dcat has been stressed and miserable since his dbro was pts in April...
After being adamant we weren't getting a dkitten we gave in and got 1 last Saturday. After just a week dcat has submitted and admitted he is interested in having a friend!! He is a placid dcat but didn't expect this so soon!!
Hopefully the start of something beautiful!
Any pics of dcats enjoying their buddy welcome!!

Sorry you lost your boy but so glad for you that it looks like they will be happy together.

Brother & sister here, doing the Yin Yang thing. The bit that looks like a tortie is in with them is a feather boa toy!

We did similar about 7 years ago except we brought two ginger kittens home as we had just lost 2 cats in quick succession and thought our remaining cat was lonely. She found them annoying at first but once they got older and they treated her with some respect she fell in love with them. Sadly we lost her a few years ago.

We then decided we would just stick with the two remaining cats but circumstances changed and we ended up adopting a tiny weeny neighbour's cat who my cats were petrified of as she is so feisty, but she needed a new home and we couldn't bear not to take her in. One of my gingers just treats her with contempt and mostly keeps out of her way whilst the other one is sooo desperate to make friends with her that he will just sit and stare at her longingly!

We found a ginger kitten by a river during the summer. When we brought him home Hobbes grumbled for four days and then decided to be friends. They play together and try and fit into the same basket.
