Daft mouse

Went to let Lenny out and this little sweetie was siiting on my doorstep.
All our cats were inside so not sure what he was doing there.
I grabbed Lenny & shut him in the kitchen so I could pick him up the little chap and move him away from the danger zone. Half way to the field the mouse escaped from my hands and ran up my arm and round to the back of my jumper. By the time I had (VERY slowly & carefully) taken my jumper off he'd gone.

I have no idea what any of my neighbours would have thought I was doing if they were watching me 🤣

Oh cute little mouse.I have a resident mouse that lives in a hole in the garden wall.It comes out for the peanuts I put out for the squirrels.

Is that a fieldmouse?

What a sweet mouse. I'm glad he didn't end up as a cat toy.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 19/11/2020 10:05

Not a mouse expert I'm afraid Grin - but having done some quick research I think it probably is. Happy to be corrected by any mice aficionados on the site.

Where was TC at the time?

I think a field mouse because their colouring and body shape is different from house mice. Odd that it was so tame though.

I'm glad he didn't end up as a cat toy.

Same here - much as I love the cats they are murderous little sods. I much prefer to rescue a rodent rather than dispose of its cadaver.

He is very cute but I just went cold when I read he’d run up your arm and disappeared.
Might he still be about your person? In your hair? Down your trousers?
I think I’d have had to have taken all my clothes off to check!

BLOODY CATS!!

Just opened the door to let a miaowing cat come in. In runs another mouse (smaller than yesterday's), pursued by Karl. It's taken me 30 minutes to capture it and release it. At least I got it into a box this time so no risk of it running up my arm Grin.
Now to put the house back together...

That is a house mouse and he was trying to move in with you!

I'll trade your mouse for an injured rat. DH hasn't got over the incident even though it was some years ago.
