Hi does anyone use Brevecto, usually have advocate but recently changed vets and they recommend this flea treatment? Any thoughts?

Yes, we use it. It’s quite a solvent smell. But it’s not huge volume to apply and seems to work. It’s only every 3 months as well. So it’s good.

Thanks @DobbyTheHouseElk, was a little worried as some reviews say it can have side effects and don't know anyone in RL that uses it.

We started using it about 4 years ago after we had a huge flea infestation. They were on Broadline which was clearly not working! It’s been fantastic. Both cats are getting on- one is 17 and one is 13 and they haven’t experienced any side effects. I use it religiously every 3 months!

I was using Broadline which didn’t work as I found fleas. Then I switched to credelio. Which is a tablet that 98% of cats will eat. I have the 2%. So the vet said no point carrying on with that one, so we were given the Bravecto. Been using it since Jan and no side effects. It does work. I have an outside loving cat and no fleas. He’s cream so I’d see them running around in his fur.

I sell somewhere in the region of 70 vials a month in my practice for the last four years. I have had two cats in that time manage to lick it and froth at mouth - easily resolves by washing their mouth out. I use it on all four of my own cats.

RHOBHfan · 03/11/2020 22:55

Didn’t work a jot on mine.

moonbells · 04/11/2020 21:52

Worked on my two during the horrendous flea year a few or so years back. Unfortunately one of them lost all the fur around his neck where it must have run down between his skin and his collar. We took the collars off both of them (didn't think fair to take off just one) while the fur grew back (took months) and never found justification to put it on again. But have never dared use the drops again either.

moonbells · 04/11/2020 21:53

Drat wish we had edit. Never put either collars or Bravecto back on either.

MonaChopsis · 04/11/2020 21:55

Use it on both mine, love it. No ticks, no fleas, easy to apply single handed. Cats no so keen and normally give me the stink-eye for a few days after.
