Adopting from cats protection

Has anyone actually managed to get a cat from them lately? If so how??

Totally understand that we can't go into the catteries to see cats but the new cats all seem to go up onto their web pages as already reserved. I've read you can't leave details of what you are looking for.

I just don't get how you are meant to adopt anything. Would love 2 youngish cats (doesn't have to be kittens) and have junior school aged children. Would love to adopt rather than buy from gum tree or somewhere similar but just don't get how anyone manages it.

Not Cats Protection, but I picked up my new cat from the RSPCA last Saturday, having enquired the Tuesday before and done the paperwork etc over the Wednesday and Thursday. I could have collected her on the Friday but I didn't have everything ready. Mine is a 'tricky' cat (ex-stray/semi-feral) which probably helped with not having to wait as I expect most people want more domestic/family-friendly cats so that's where the wait is.

Have you tried other rescues? Two of our local independent rescues have quite a few kittens so it's worth looking beyond Cats Protection.

Gent cp do a hands free adoption. Cats are shown on Facebook and you have to have to follow the rules laid out on their page. Have had quite a few on there. And I know they have many more.

My son adopted a cat from Cats Protection a few weeks ago, he initially enquired about another cat but they weren't able to offer him that one for some reason or other, but they urged him to look at the profile of another in their care and they turned out to be perfect for each other. He couldn't meet the cat before adopting due to covid measures but took him home on a trial basis and the adoption was finalised after two weeks. He's a lovely cat.

We did. They checked our home via video call.

Looks like I'll just have to keep trying. Maybe I've just been unlucky.
