Noisy cat flap !

Through the night I often get woke from the cat coming clattering through in and out it's just a big standard cat flap the one I can hear not a microchip one. Has anyone successfully done anything to make them quieter?

The thin draft excluder along the edges or a strip of thin felt to soften the ‘bump’. However it won’t then click shut - if that’s what yours does. So could shift the problem from noise to a draft.

I’d keep him in after dark, it’s much safer for them.

@Fluffycloudland77 thanks for your concern we live in a quiet cul de sac and he can come into the utility room at night where he has a bed , blanket and biscuits

We live in a quiet cup de sac with speed bumps. It didn’t help. We think it was an electric car because he was scared of cars & knew to move. We moved here as it was a safe road.

It’s not just concern for him, you don’t want to feel like I do. My others died of cancer or kidney disease and I didn’t feel guilty about any of them.
