Catio recommendations

We have to Bengals who are indoor cats. I let them out in the garden but have to constantly supervise or they will try and escape and we are not far from a busy road. I’m thinking of getting some sort of outdoor enclosure for them and wondered if anyone has any recommendations?

Our garden isn’t that big so it can’t be huge. Ideally I’d like one that has several platforms so they can climb up.

Thanks.

If you/partner/relative is any good at DIY, you should be able to make one quite easily. Needs to have decent framework and wire (I think chicken wire should be OK, otherwise something like a decent wire mesh)), then you can build platforms to suit.

@Allergictoironing - mmm not sure if DH’s skills extend that far ..

You can buy them off amazon but I bet some company will make and fit.

Ask a local carpenter / garden fencer. A quick google comes up with lots of ideas.
Btw, very envious and would love a catio!!

We got a local builder to do ours. He used a 16 gauge wire you can buy big rolls of it. How big are you thinking?

If you have a small garden can you not enclose all of it?

I have a catio from Omlet/Eglu. I have two Maine Coons. I did look at getting the garden cat proofed by Protecta pet but it was too expensive due to dry stone walls and picket fences.
If I had a garden with 5-6 ft high fences, I would use Protectapet.

@Iwant2move I wanted to proof the whole garden with those guys but it was very expensive. The garden boundary issue was a potential faff too.

@Inastatus proofing the whole garden might be an option for you but I was surprised that it only prevents escape not entry. Apparently neighbour cats get stuck in your garden but quickly learn not to do it again.

Thanks everyone. I have looked at ProtectaPet for cat proof fencing but it was expensive, I might re-visit. I didn’t know that it didn’t stop cats getting in to your garden Siamese.

@Iwant2move - I was looking at the Omlet ones, they look really good but again quite expensive.
