Cat acne

One of my boys seems to have a case of cat acne under his chin. It's about the size of a 5 pence piece and a bit crusty. Any tips on treating this home?

Make sure all his bowls are metal, glass or ceramic, no plastic.

Has he seen a vet?. Might be infected

Gobolino80 · 19/10/2020 21:02

@dementedpixie no, he hasn't seen a vet, I've only discovered it this evening whilst giving him some fuss. He isn't bothered by me touching it and it doesn't look red or weepy and I haven't seen him scratching it or rubbing it so I don't think its infected.

Agree with @Chemenger. He might have had an allergic reaction to feeding / water bowls.

DCat had this just after arriving from the rescue - vet said it was a stress reaction. Treated it with diluted hibiscus ointment.

Unless you're sure of what it is, you'd need a vet to check that it really is cat acne and not ringworm.
