Why is our kitten so farty?!

It's not a new thing. She's been farty since we got her a couple of weeks ago. She eats Lily's kitchen wet food. I've tried a couple of others but this is her favourite (and it's what she was eating before she came to us). We sqitch the dry food between Lily's kitchen (which she seems to prefer) and Royal Canin (which she seems to like less, but she was eating before she came to us). She generally poos ok. One time tried a Wainwrights tuna which gave her an upset tummy so went back to Lily's kitchen.

If it makes any difference, she's 12 weeks old and we've had her for 3 weeks.

No advice but we have two cats. Regardless of what we feed them one of them does poo's that can clear out a room.

We've tried all kinds of food and he still stinks.

Her poos are generally not bad. She's happy generally. She just does lots of stinky farts. I've found myself searching rooms thinking she's poo'd somewhere she shouldn't have before realising it's another silent but deadly! (She has never actually gone to toilet anywhere except her litter tray!)

Has she been dewormed? That can cause this.

Thisismynewname123 · 06/10/2020 17:52

@BovaryX she was before we brought her home, and we have it here as she's due it again now. Do you mean the treatment can cause it, or having worms could be the reason?

Having worms could be the reason. But it is an easily treated condition, the tablet zaps them!

NancyBotwinBloom · 06/10/2020 18:17

We worn both of ours regularly we have a monthly subscription. He still stinks.

We have a vet appointment tomorrow for her second vaccinations, so will ask the vet if it could be worms

@NancyBotwinBloom at least it's not only ours then. I tried googling it, but tesults all seemed to say that it's unusual for cats to be very farty if they don't have an upset stomach

Definitely ask the vet about worms while you're there, but if not it might just be the excitement of her new home. All my kittens have been little stinkers in their first few weeks. Good job they're so cute Grin

@OutrageousFlavourLikeFreesias she is super cute 😍.

One of my kittens was very farty but thankfully grew out of it.
