Biting kitten

So I've posted about Basil before and you've all been very helpful. He is lovely and we adore him but he's starting to bite. He's 11 weeks old today. Whenever he does this we try and get his attention elsewhere but whenever we're in bed he goes into lion modes and stalks then bites us! Any advice on how to stop him please?

Get another kitten, then they bite each other Grin

No it’s a phase, he will grow out of it. But in the meantime can you keep him downstairs so he’s not attacking you in bed?

Is he neutered yet?. It’s play behaviour & he’s practising his future hunting tactics on you.

Normally he’d do it to his litter mates and their covered in fur so they have a layer of protection we lack.

We also have a cat called Basil. He's a bitey cat first thing in the morning - you get used to it Grin.

That face is so innocent!! Is that a blanket on his bed?

ifiwasascent · 05/10/2020 17:22

@Mumdiva99 yes it's blanket on his bed which is placed on top of the double bed in the spare room because he was being naughty so I put him in his own room 😂 Okay good to know it's just a phase. He met a 1 yr old the other day and we were slightly worried but he was good as gold and didnt bite or scratch even though he was probably quite annoyed. He's not neutered yet but will be when he's big enough

I'm sorry, OP. But i just don't believe that handsome boy could ever misbehave. He's got the innocent look down pat! Grin

He is just gorgeous.

I wonder if my kittens need a blanket on their bed....lol

Open up a book/magazine/newspaper etc and make a tent shape. Poke a toy/drinking straw into the tent so they can pounce under the tent to smite.

It’s a good on the bed game.

Our last cat got very bites around 5 months and didn't know when to stop so from the beginning we have been very strict on no biting

We use no or a hiss and distraction toy and he dies usually respond though little bugger attacked my feet this morning

We do play mousey on the bed which he loves but he's not allowed to attack uncovered limbs IYSWIM
