Getting cats used to newborn

Hi, hoping for some help.

I have 2 lovely cats and am currently expecting first child. How do I get the cats to cope and get used to new baby?

They both currently sleep in either the spare bedroom which will become nursery or in the main bedroom with us- aware that neither of these will be suitable when baby gets here. Is there a way of transitioning them to staying downstairs etc?

Thankyou :) x

You could try getting them a nice soft fleece blanket, maybe pop it in the spare room for them until you convert it to a nursery then move it downstairs to where you hope they will sleep. Generally speaking, I let mine have a good sniff at the bab

I have always had cats and there was never a problem when my children came along. The cats will adapt quite quickly so I wouldn't even worry about it.

Oops, posted too soon! Let them check out the baby gear to get over the curiosity before the baby comes. Make sure they get lots of fuss once the baby is born. Mine were not amused for a while but liked to sit next to me on the sofa and have a little sniff at DS when he was asleep.
