My 1 Yr old cat went out Sunday evening and hasn't come home yet. I have rung all the vets, asked all the neighbours to check sheds etc and I'm so distraught. I can't stop crying over this. Please send me your positive stories.

Sorry to hear. All I can say is that cats around here tend to get a bit too cosy in neighbours houses! Also someone's cat on the road spends all their time in my neighbour's garden because I have dogs so she refuses to come this side.

Good luck!

Oh dear, have you alerted your local fb spotted page & put the vacuum cleaner bag out on the garden?, keep calling her no matter how futile it’s seems.

Oh my God I'm so sorry this is happening OP. My 9-year-old cat went missing for a day a few months ago after being attacked by a dog. I still don't know where she was, but after a full day searching I put notes through the surrounding neighbour's doors asking them to check their cars, gardens, sheds and garages. She turned up an hour later. Absolutely one of the worst days of my life, I think I cried most of the day.

Get some posters made, my boy would always go off wandering, and seemed to come home just after I'd made up loads of posters/flyers etc and started putting them out. Oh, and facebook missing pets pages can be really helpful too, good luck!

Put the litter tray outside.

Our local Facebook group has a pretty good track record of cats either being found or finding their way home eventually! Stay hopeful xx

My cat went AWOL for three nights earlier this year, it was awful. I think she had got shut in somewhere. Came home, hungry, thirsty and very very pleased to be home.
Don't lose hope yet. Make some posters and talk to people. Most cats don't actually go very far from home.

Haribo didn't come home for dinner one Monday. I walked the streets, put notes through doors, posters on lamposts, Facebook, posters in local shops. My neighbours also went out on "Paw Patrol". My neighbour heard a cat crying from someone's garden on the Thursday. It was Haribo. He'd jumped onto a shed roof and fallen through. Whether it was a rotten roof or it had a hole in it we don't know. We rescued him with the help of our neighbours and our brother in law and he was safe. He wasn't that far from home. I posted on The Litter Tray Haribo is missing and the MN cat lovers kept my hopes up throughout for which I'll be forever grateful.

I hope you have good news soon.

My mum had a cat stay overnight recently must have wandered in when the door was open in the afternoon and settled for the night..they didn’t find her until breakfast! every chance they’ll appear starving soon..

My 12yo cat went missing 2 weeks into lockdown. She came home 2 weeks ago! She does it every year but this is the longest she has gone.

She was missing for 7 weeks over Christmas and new year. At least once a year she'll vanish for long periods of time.

The last 2 occasions she came home fatter than she left so someone is feeding her!

Some friends of mine had their cat return recently after 4 years! They suspect she was being held captive by someone local. As she'd been looked after.
