Lovely cat turned psycho cat today!

We're still learning the personality of our 2 yo rescue who for the first few days home was fairly calm although friendly. She's never seemed shy of us at all, took her time familiarising herself with the house and first night slept in dd's bed. Today is day 4 and suddenly she's been sprinting around the house up and down the stairs, high jump on to the top bunk bed etc.
Is this normal behaviour? letting off steam perhaps?

One of those a4 paper boxes works well.

I’m posting this at 4.44 am after being woken by a similar crazy tabby.
We call our Zoomies ‘crazy cat’ time. The kids know to expect crazy cat after toiletting outside - we all watch and laugh. Our cats are 14 and both still do it.

That is a crazy time!
For a minute there I saw the picture and wondered whose bed our cat Lola was in
They do look very similar!

Day 7 - Psycho cat has become quiet cat. Yesterday she had to have me in sight all the time. Today she's in dd's top bunk bed - has blanked me completely!

Sounds like my baby! She’s more dog than cat. Follows us all around, meows for the kids if they aren’t in. Hates being shut out of a room lol greets us at the door!

Oh and Demelza has always slept shut in the kitchen 🙈

And she also sleeps on dds top bunk bed! X

Did not shut her downstairs last night but let her moan for a bit until I was ready to get up this morning.
Day 8 - reverted to psycho cat today! reckon she's Jekyll and Hyde. Literally climbed the walls this morning and did a beam workout . Just now high jumped on to the living room door.

They must be twins! Watched her jump up and rush to the door when dd turned the key in the door today when back from school. She's a bundle of joy but not what I was expecting.
Younger dd was not keen on her when we saw her at the shelter because she was so subdued and dd wanted a 'playful' cat. Told her the cat needed a good home so she should give her a chance. Be careful of what you wish for
