To get a kitten or not to get a kitten...

We already have a 5 year old boy who is fairly nervous. He has grown to tolerate the neighbours cats but doesn’t appear to like them.

Friend of a friend has kittens needing a home in a few weeks. Should we???

Will it be a disaster? our flat is quite small so not loads of places for Dcat to hide from kitten. But would he grow to love his little brother/sister? He’s quite playful , would they play? I don’t want to upset him but would love to offer a home .

Also... would I just expect to pay double what I pay at moment in terms of food, insurance etc?

Final hurdle will be persuading DP but working on that already...

Shall we???

Does he seek out the neighbours cats?.

Not that I’m aware of... he will have long staring contests with them, If they appear Over the fence, sometimes he chases them but not often. He doesn’t get into fights with them.

It doesn’t sound the best idea for him but I understand the kitten-broodiness when presented with a litter.

Haha! That’s the problem isn’t it!

Cats do get used to each other though right?
