Recommend me a litter tray please

My old girl can't manage going outside to the toilet anymore so I've set up a litter tray for her. It's the traditional open tray style with non clumping litter.

And she's making a terrible mess / smell with it.

So can you recommend a litter tray that contains the litter and the smell. And also recommend the best litter for odour control / mess.

Thanks.

Petmate top entry. Though if she's ok she might not manage it. I've got a Wilko hooded tray as Cheddar didn't understand top entry and it's very good.
I use tigerino or Intersand litter

She's a bit decrepit so I don't think she'll manage top entry.

Am thinking a hooded one will be enough of a challenge for her! Bless her!

Just got one from Pets at Home which so far helps to contain mess. The design also allows sifting of the clumping type of litter to make poo disposal easy while retaining unsoiled litter. I'm new to all of this but World's Best cat litter should be good for smell.

We’ve got a litter robot but if she’s not got good mobility then it’s probably not a good idea.

The mess is pretty unavoidable when they get on a bit, have you tried to change the litter? Some are awful for absorbing and clumping so smell terrible.

A hooded one and remove the flappy. We use the cheapest cat litter going - with a track mat under the litter tray. But... (whispers) I treated us to some sanicat litter vanilla and orange smell. It tracks minimally, clumps beautifully and hides the smell. It’s quite pricey but I mix it with the cheapest of cheap cat litter. Although I can see me swapping permanently and accepting the cost versus ease of use!
