Hi
We are adopting a lovely wee 18 month old female cat this weekend. Really excited!!

Anyway they use an open litter tray at the rescue. I have bought a basic open one but do you think she could get used to a hooded tray. Would prefer this for piece of mind with a 3 year old dc but will keep reinforcing it is out of bounds. Do you think she could adjust to this type of tray but with same litter??

Yes - I take the flap off the hooded ones. Just put some of her used litter in there so it smells ‘right’. Show her where it is and pop her in it. Somehow they get the message!!

Hooded ones also keep the smell and scatter factors down.
