My cat's dead

Not 19 year old Buns but my missing cat Gomez. He was adorable and had a fabulous white moustache. He adored Buns and spent all of his time bothering her with kisses which she hated and she would slap him and stalk off.
He ran off 18 months ago and despite an extensive search was never found.
I left flyers with all of the neighbours before I went off to Somerset, all of the cat charities had my new address and number and I informed the microchip company where I was moving to.
I got a phone call yesterday to say he's been found half a mile away from my old house run over. He was still alive when he got to the vets but died soon after he got there and they scanned him and rang me.
He was in very good condition generally and far from starving so he must have been fed by someone.
He was a wanderer and a bit of a gypsy, I think he must have gone too far one day and got lost.
I always hoped I would get him home one day, I am devastated.

I’m so sorry for your loss. There was always hope, and a what if when they are missing.
Hopefully he had a happy time on his wander.
So sad. RIP

Oh no, that’s awful. Someone was looking after him and loving him right to the end though. He wasn’t hungry or cold. I’m so sorry, we lost ours on the road and it was just the worst thing ever.

I'm sorry he's gone. It does sound like he got himself a bit lost. Poor lad such an awful way to lose them.

I'm so sorry.

I'm so sorry @madcatladyforever. Gomez had a great life, and made it to a very impressive age.

Aw, so sad. I dread the day that the first of my ageing boys goes. One had to suffer an overdose and two generals within two weeks because of vet negligence recently but he came through. I can only imagine how sad you must feel. Sending purrs and mews.

Very sorry for your loss madcatladyforever. It sounds as if Gomez was a real character.
