Kitten behaviour after spay.

She is five and a half months and was spayed last Wednesday. Before then, she was very lively, did that whole darting around thing, could get a bit bitey. She was very very aggressive with the vet (she has a bit of a reputation with them already. 🙄)
Six days later, and I'm not sure if her behaviour is the normal calming down after a spay or something else. The would is healing well, she hasn't touched it. She is eating and drinking, although she doesn't seem to have quite as much of an appetite as before.
But she's not playful. This sounds so silly, but she seems sad. She'll come up and sleep on me, and she came out to the back yard with me yesterday for a sniff around. There's nothing physical I can see is wrong.
Is this normal? I really hoped the spay would calm her down, but now it's happened I'm worried!

Also, I have spoken to the vet who has said to "see how she is." Because she's healing and eating, I think they think she's okay.

It isn't normal - it's unusual to see any change of behaviour, particularly in kittens. However as she is also eating ok then it doesn't sound too worrying either. I would agree with the 'see how she goes' advice.

Thanks thecatneuterer - I phoned the vet back and was a bit pushy and they agreed to look her over. She has an infection, poor girl. They gave her an injection and some medicine.

I was going to say infection but you’ve been. Anytime they change behaviour vet them. It’s easier and cheaper long run to nip things in the bud.

I hope she’s better soon.

Yay! She's chasing flies again this morning.

My cat appeared depressed for about a week after being spayed but did then start to perk up, my guess is it's sore for them similar to how sore I was post c.section!
