Peeing in plug hole

Kitten (4 months) uses litter tray well but in last few weeks he's been using the plug hole in the sink. Quite smart and he has a brilliant aim (!) but how can I stop this and get him to pee in the litter tray? He seems to just prefer peeing down a drain and using the tray for poo. Is this common?

Yes, common enough. He wants two trays, one for wee and one for poo.

My cat uses the bath plug hole too. She's very accurate too 😂 mostly she goes outside and she has a lovely hooded litter tray but on the odd occasion she uses the plug!
