Ragdoll or longhaired cat owners

I have my heart set on a ragdoll cat or kitten but I’ve read some quite frankly, gross stories online about how all longhaired cats regularly get poo stuck in their hair.
Now I understand, taking on a cat entails certain things less than pleasant and am prepared for that but I think regular poo trails across soft furnishings is probably a bit too much for me.
Is it true??

I presume you are aware that a rag doll will need to be an indoor cat or just gave an enclosed garden.

Cats sleep for about 20 hours a day. It'll be fine while you go to work.

My Persian loves a bit of company, we are out at work but someone is around maybe a third of the time. I think he was begging for us to return to school and work after lockdown
He is an indoor cat. We briefly let him in the garden but the little bugger would find the tiniest bit of damp grass and his matts got crazy and painful. Now we open the shutters over the patio doors to let the breeze in. He doesn’t seem bothered and only v occasionally makes a break for freedom (or a puddle on the patio).

I'm off sick at the minute and I think Cheddar is desperate for me to go back to work as I take up her favourite spot on the sofa!

I have a long haired maine coon. We trim his fur around his bum to avoid these situations clipper and scissors. He is a really laid back cat (more like a dog) but we started doing it when he was young so I think he is just use to it now.

We have a long haired moggy. I regularly have to trim her floofy butt to get either poo or leaves or twigs and the occasional slug as well. Its not to bad.

My son has 2 ragdolls they are beautiful but today he had to contact a groomer as one of them has matted fur that needs shaving :(
