Super clingy cat

My lovely cat (7 yr old) has always enjoyed sitting on laps, being petted etc but recently she has become even more clingy. She paces around waiting for somebody to sit down then jumps up, paws at you, licks fingers etc. She's an absolute sweetheart but it's pretty intense...wonder if it is just her getting more and more used to not being alone due to lockdown? She has a sister who hasn't really changed behaviour wise at all.

Mines the same since lockdown. I resorted to putting the handle of her mouse on a string under a pile of books so she can roll around legs in the air without tapping my arm & crying every time I stop waving it!

I found one of our cats - the most aloof not really bothered with us one is obsessed with my DD now having been home for 5 months during lockdown - she wouldn't be in the same room with her before

Reassuring to hear...it's not exactly a problem but just curious to hear if others are experiencing the same

Is it a bit chilly where you are?. Mine loved a lap when it got colder.

Mine is always super clingy. If he's not sat on me, he's following me around purring or gazing lovingly at me or blinking adoringly
He's a little weirdo

@QueenPaws it's lovely really. By contrast, the other one couldn't care less about us (except for my eldest dd)

This is what I get. I wake up at 3am with a jump because he's just lay there gazing at me

Actually that was my next thought but I'm pregnant with twins and it's more my male cat that won't leave me alone. And he expresses his happiness in me growing two new playmates by constantly humping me (yes he is neutered!).

Last time I was pregnant he was such a sex pest I took him to the vets to check his neutering hadnt reversed itself - the vet thought it was hilarious 😂

Such is you allure @ivfbeenbusy you can reverse castrations 😹. You little sex pot you.

mine has gone from a next-to to a full on lap cat in the last week or so. no idea what. he just shoves and wedges his arse in under my ipad so he can get on my lap.

annoying but i love him SO MUCH that i forgive him...

this is my boy fiercely guarding his Cuddly, which he has had since he came home from the RSPCA 3 years ago. as you can tell, you May Not have it...

@Mia184 that’s so sweet. my boy is a rescue - horribly abused as a kitten. we got him at 5 months and he’d had a hernia from being squeezed, his gums were bleeding and his stomach really irritated as he’d never been fed properly since weaning and his eyes were all manky.

the RSPCA put him back together and he’s been my absolute joy ever since. he missed his socialisation window so he doesn’t know how to play, and he’s a very contented indoor cat with me as his faithful servant. i mean, he’s a weirdo - his favourite thing is having his tail pulled but i love him very much.
