Kitten scooting

We have a new adopted kitten, from a well known cat rescue, it’s only been here 4 days. It’s done 2 poos in this time but after each it scoots across the carpet for a minute wiping its bottom on the carpet and then sniffs at it. I’m really concerned because I have a 2 and a 4 year old and there’s no way I can keep them long term off the floor. I’m a first time cat owner and he’s currently on a 5 day trial, I’m really off put by this behaviour because of the kids. I’ve checked with other friends and their cats don’t do this. Any advice??

It’s 11-12 weeks old.

Blocked anal glands . Easily sorted by a vet/vet nurse.

Or possibly worms? - again easily treated.

I find it slightly odd that you refer to your kitten as 'it'. Do you like him?

You don't sound very invested in this kitten. Particularly as you mention the five day trial.

Has they been wormed? Sounds like irritation around the anus

Sounds like worms to me

Worms or glands.
