Just came down to a tiny brown writhing worm on the floor by my cat's water. it even had a bit of litter stuck to it...

She's an indoor cat, as very elderly, so I've not be very careful about worming. Just treated her with droncit spot on, but I don't think this is a tapeworm is it? I've emailed the vet in a panic but they dont open for another hour - so disgusting! How long does treatment take?

I'm guessing me and dd need to go and take a tablet?

Tape worms typically look like grains of rice - so it sounds more like roundworm?

Yes Eek, I haven't been able to speak to the vet today so don’t have a proper diagnosis but the receptionist said drontcal didn’t work for roundworm, but the box says it does? Just going to have to hold on til Monday which is annoying but I appreciate it’s not an emergency . Receptionist thought finding one worm didn’t mean treating us but I’d rather be safe than sorry , just not sure of the otc stuff works for roundworm?
