Adopting two cats. Advice please

Hello! We are adopting a pair of cats soon. They are two brothers, two and a half years old. Their owner is lovely and they are very well cared for. She has to re-home them due to a change of circumstances.

As we haven't done this before, I would appreciate any advice. We are delighted about it and want to get off to a good start.

Their owner will be giving us all their things so at least they will have all their familiar few bits with them.

They have always been indoor cats. Is it likely that they will always want to stay inside or venture out? I don't mind if they don't go outside.

I enclose a picture of Léon and Cookie.

Thank you all! Smile yes, they are lovely boys and we feel lucky to have them.

The black guy is braver than the whiter guy and has started to come over to me, but they are mostly in hiding, squashed up in the same basket.

We'll take it nice and easy. It is a huge upheaval for them.

Hi all, just an update to say that the boys are setting in well. They are much more confident and starting to explore around the downstairs rooms. It's like having two toddlers again getting into everything Grin

Sound like they are doing brilliantly.

Changing territory is hard for cats. We moved house and that was hard for our cat and he at least had his familiar humans with him.

But they'll quickly learn that they are safe, loved and well fed.

They really are handsome boys! Happy to hear they’re settling in well.

They are lovely! They look like they are setting in well, so nice to hear a happy rehoming story.

Ahh they are gorgeous , love the white eyebrows on the boy on the left Grin

My cats ( Bro/Sis) identical black cats , sometimes we have to say "Hello You" so as not to insult them by mis-sexing them because we have no bloody clue who has just wandered by Shock

They have settled nicely to our house/garden/4 adults . DH is WFH so female joins him at the table to "help"
Food 2xdaily and Dreamies at 2.15 .

They do like to shred the carpets though , woke up at 5am to hear them scratching . Looked like someone had marmalized a teddy bear , the amount of beige carpet fluff .

DH maintains they are easier than the guinea-pigs though ....

You will not regret your new arrivals .

Thank you everyone 😊 aw...two identical black cats must be fun Grin yes, it has been a fun.and amazing few days. They are full of fun and high jinks and they are sweet cats, very affectionate. They were well cared for previously. The blacker guy, Léon, likes to use the empty clothes rack as his own climbing frame Shock

Apologies for overuse of the word 'fun'. Posted too soon. A good sign, I guess!

What beautiful cats. I can see why you wanted to give them a loving home. I hope you have many happy years together.

Hello again!

Just wondering if I can get some advice on their food please?

They are having half a scoop of dried food in the morning and half a pouch of whiskas 1 plus in the evening. It seems a bit small, but they are a good weight so maybe it's alright? They are two and a half.

They are still living inside, obviously.

One guy is a real mountaineer and has conquered every bookcase. The other guy is a bit of a techie; he loves wires and cables.

Thanks all :)
