New cat vs old cat sofa wee

Hi

I am looking to adopt a new adult cat from a local rescue centre in the next few weeks.

Last year I lost my lovely cat and about a month or so later I adopted another cat who turned out to have a range of health issues and she had to be returned.

Unfortunately my, this cat had some toilet trouble and urinated on my sofa. I have done my best to eradicate the smell, but the new cat will definitely be able to smell it.

My question is - do you think the new cat will wee on the sofa to mark her territory? Or do you think it will be ok? I would rather not buy a new sofa if I don't have to. I would consider getting the sofa professionally cleaned, do you think that would help? If anyone had any advice or experience, I would love to hear it.

Thank you

I had a cat that weed on the sofa. I had no issue with my new cat.
