Flea sprays/bombs that have worked for you

Vet usually gives the cat his flea treatment but gave it to me to do last time. I obviously dud it wrong as know there are fleas in my bedroom 😫

If you’ve used sprays/bombs that have worked fir you could you let me know which ones? Any other tips for getting rid in the house. Seem only to be contained to the bedroom at the moment.

Will call the vet re advice on cat as well.

I can’t remember the name of it. It’s one that I think you have to get from a vet. I think it was user fail (me) though.

I don't find the bombs very good or the sprays. The light traps with sticky paper are good and just keep treating your cat and let the cat go in the rooms where you've seen fleas so they can bite the cat and die!

Indorex worked miracles for me a couple years ago after I tried several different sprays and got a professional out. It even killed all the wee bugs that usually come in during the spring, not seen any in the house since too

Thanks for the tips - it’s good to hear others experience. Will check out the traps. Just back from pets at home so got a couple of Johnson’s bug bombs and some beahar flea powered - not holding out much hope but thought I’d give it a go. Indorex is arriving on Tuesday from amazon which is the same day cat gets retreated.

So, once he’s retreated do I let him roam freely? I was thinking of treating each room one or two each day.

Don’t let him into the rooms you’re treating with flea spray/bombs, I think he needs to stay out of them for about 12-24hrs afterwards (can’t remember if that’s correct though! Ours didn’t get back out the kitchen for 24hrs anyway, but we did the entire place at once bar the kitchen). But he can go in any room that you’ve not used the spray on once he’s treated, any fleas living on the carpets etc will bite him and die. The indorex kills any eggs too so you’re covered on that front as well

Also cut up a flea collar and put it in your hoover then go mad hoovering. If you’re getting bit yourself get yourself a good exfoliating body scrub, it feels so damn good to scrub the bites without causing damage to yourself! You’ve my sympathies, we had the buggering things for 3 sodding months before I finally discovered indorex!

This was me a couple of weeks ago. Both cats and the dog are flea'd every month. Found a flea and indorexed the house.

You may need to change your flea treatment as every few months ours seems to be less effective.

Indorex is ordered from amazon. I read that really you should treat the whole house although at the moment they only seem to be an issue in MY bedroom (typical!). Slept on the sofa last night and no more bites. Kids not been bitten. Cat currently confined to kitchen.

How many cans of Indorex did you use? I initially ordered one but then ordered another two.

How far do I go in terms of washing? Bedding, duvets, pillows, throws -yes. Do I have to wash all clothes from cupboards/drawers too? Curtains?

Or should I just set fire to the house?

Lol. I used two. Three bed average sized house.

Only carpet is on the stairs.

Took cat to vets who advised not to treat him again as he thinks even if I didn’t really get the treatment on the skin pusscat will have absorbed some of it but the treatment wouldn’t last as long. He advised me just to use the Indorex and come back in a couple of weeks if still having problems.

Indorex arrived today and have hoovered about half the house and fumigated two rooms. Have left the vacuum cleaner in one of the fumigated rooms so if any nasties crawl out of it they should be killed by the Indorex - is that right? I found it difficult to breathe in there!

I was hoping to get it all finished tomorrow but I don’t think I will. The hoovering is so time consuming when shifting everything around. I’ve been bagging up anything that can be washed and sticking those bags in the garage - throws, pillows, bkznkets, cushions. There’s about 20 bin bags - sob!
