Help with keeping cat inside after surgery

We have to keep our darling girl inside for the next 10 days following surgery and she is desperate to get out! She's 11 and has always been an outdoor cat. She's had a lump removed and has a post op vest on. Whilst she seems comfortable enough, not herself but that's ok, and she is using the litter box - she really wants to escape and is so sad. Is there anything we can do to make it easier for her?

You have to either sit it out and wait until the ‘quarantine‘ is over or you make a judgement call that she is fine after ‘x’ days to go out. Have you tried feliway plug in and just more attention and playtime with treats?
Or you could put her in her cage and sit with her outside whilst she gets some fresh air.
Or you could try a harness and lead.
Both of these ideas could result in more stress than just keeping her in, to be honest.
You know your own cat best.

Just be aware of having any windows open even a little bit - I had a cat in a half body cast get out of such a window and leg it over three fences before I caught her. It was not fun. She was so desperate to be out, but she accepted that being in, was easier for her after her escape.

Thank you both! I think a harness and cage would just be more stressful to be honest, she hates being enclosed or having anything on her. We will persist. She's been so good really, it's just difficult to go anywhere as opening a door is dangerous! She's still sleeping a lot, once we have a little routine and I'm less nervous hopefully it'll be easier

Also I've one feliway - more are coming tomorrow. Hopefully they help
