Other than the good old cardboard box what are your cats' favourite toys? Our kitten is turning 1 in a few weeks and my kids are keen to buy him a present (I'm sure he'll also be spoiled with fresh chicken and extra Dreamies!!)

Yeowww catnip toys (Amazon)
Happy kitty blankets (Facebook)
A giant ball of ribbon Grin

Peacock feathers. Free and endlessly entertaining.

Yeowww toys look perfect. Thank you!

We don't have peacocks so feathers might not be free Grinbut will look online as he does like dangly feather toys

A fat/wide big rubber band.
My wee girl has hours of play tossing one around and pouncing on it.
I always supervise her but it cannot be swallowed or anything like that.

Da Bird (or similar). Basically fishing pole type toys with interesting things on the ends (mine like long feathers) that you swish around.

Small catnip mice that they can throw about & "kill".

Sadly, in Girlcat's case a live house spider, the bigger the better (yuk).

Bargebill19 · 18/08/2020 14:05

Those rattly felt mice you can buy in packs of twelve. Followed by anything with catnip.

Does TC bring down the whole peacock for you?

My little stray loves circuit but my older cat ignores it. My old cat loves a laser pen and little one not bothered.
Old cat also likes the cat nip mice but not bothered about cat nip.
They both like teaser wands with feathers

A ribbon that came on a box of chocolates a few Christmases ago. There have been numerous ribbons since, but only that one - which has been trimmed and knotted many times - holds any interest.

She also loved some catnip stuffed mice my hairdresser knitted for her, but they were “killed” quite quickly.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses

Oh she’s gorgeous.!!! (I had a little squeal of delight).

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 18/08/2020 22:45

@Bargebill19 she is a wee monkey, but a very cute one. A few years ago our vet said she “had a very pretty face, but was a bit fat”, like he was some sort of gaslighting boyfriend. (Thankfully DP had taken her in.)

minipie · 18/08/2020 22:49

Of bought toys, her favourites are some catnip stuffed soft toys

But her absolute favourite is small rolled up balls of foil which she chases madly around the kitchen.

Bargebill19 · 18/08/2020 23:02

@Judystilldreamsofhorses

I am outraged on her behalf!! Tell her to sharpen her claws before her next visit!!

Cat dancer

If your cat likes bunny kicks then there are specific toys for those, like tiny long pillows.

Plump82 · 19/08/2020 22:45

Gilbert likes toys but isn't so possessive over any certain one. Freda on the other hand ADORES felt pompoms. We have 3 on the go just now and she could play for hours with them, playing fetch. She gives her brother a small hiss or growl if he tries to take it off her!
