I will contact the vet in the morning but my old cat just had a fit, does anyone know what this is?

He was found in a bin about 10 years ago and I have had him the last 6 years.

Is he in pain? Should I see the get now it’s so difficult with COVID.

Try phoning an out of hours vet for some advice - I would definitely get him seen. If he was mine I'd be taking him in tonight....

How old is he?
How is he now?
How long was the seizure?
Does he have any Health conditions that you know of?

Eating, drinking, wee and pooing ok?

Is he an outdoor cat?
On any medications?

Hope he is ok.

Outside cat, no urine or poo when having a fit, unsure of age due to finding in a bin. Seizures last about 15 - 20 seconds, he does not seem hurt more disoriented. He had been staying more in the house the last couple of months, should I prepare myself 😢

It could be lots of things to be honest, he could've ingested something outside that he shouldn't have, it could be a kidney issue or even heatstroke....

Definitely take him to a vet ASAP to just get him checked out, meanwhile try and keep him calm and quiet and cool.

Hope he will be ok x

It's probably the heat but there will be an underlying reason. The vet will set your mind at rest whatever the outcome

How is your cat today OP?

My cat (who stays with my parents) hasn't been well and he's in hospital now.

Fingers crossed for both of them.

Mine has developed almost identical to yours but she has long term kidney disease (and other conditions) and this is one of the stages of end stage.
