Does anyone have a cat with tuberculosis?

My cat came in last week with a huge abscess on his cheek. Took him straight to the vet and they lanced it and sent swabs off to be tested. I took him back for a check up today and the vet told me that his swab results came back as negative. This has made him suspect that he may have TB as the cultures don't grow in normal lab testing hence why it came back negative. My cat has responded really well to the treatment he has received so far but having googled TB in cats (I know I know...) it looks like quite a bleak outcome if he does have it. I just wondered if anyone else had experience of it as I'm so worried for him ☹️

I haven't got experience with this but i'm offering a hand/paw hold Thanks
Have you spoken to the vets in detail? Google can be very very daunting and scary, and normally tells you the worst!

Thank you so much- it's so worrying. The vet said if there are any signs of deterioration in the next 10 days they will do a test but otherwise they'll just leave it. If he even sneezes I think I'll be back up there!! All the articles online seem to be for vets rather than owners so I'm not sure I fully understand what it entails. Fingers crossed I don't need to know xx
