Self-cleaning / robot litter tray? Worth it?

I have two indoor pedigree cats.

Because of a big change in personal circumstances, I need to cut down on chores wherever possible.

As such, I am looking in to these litter trays which self clean a few minutes after the cat has used them.

They seem to range from £200-500 which I can afford but only if they work and solve the issue of having to clean them out.

If you have one with multiple cats, is it OK to just have one, as getting two would be very expensive and keeping my manual ones would defeat the object.

Would be useful to hear from those who've invested in these, and if so which brand.

Thanks v much.

I saw one when I picked my kitten up from the breeder and it was impressive. He recommended I buy one but out of my price range, he said in the long term I would save money on the litter with even 2 cats.

You still need to clean the tray that catches the poo and I imagine it will need a good scrub on a regular basis.

Thanks, I don't suppose you know which one it was?

I don't mind a weekly empty / clean but it's the daily hassle of doing it.

I've seen a few advertised but they all seem to be prototypes. And the one I saw demonstrated at the pet show last year was enormous!

Fair enough toddlertea, in fairness I've not looked at size but it would just go in my utility room.

Bump, anyone else?

I have the Petsafe Scoopfree self-cleaning one from Amazon. It was about £120. It's brilliant! For one indoor cat, I change the cartridge about every 4-5 weeks and they cost about £16 each. I literally don't think about it between cartridge changes. If you had more than one cat, you might just need to change it more often, you wouldn't need more than one of the trays. Highly recommended.

It was the litter robot he had. It is huge like a PP mentioned so you would need a lot of room for it.
