Birman cat needs

We are getting two birman kittens soon Grin and are looking at cat trees/towers/scratch posts. I think birmans are known for not being so active, will they climb things or do they just want a comfy bed Wink?

I really like the hicat but am not sure if they would use it and they are expensive if a mistake. Our previous cats didn't use their cat tree much after kittenhood, I think the platforms were not big enough for them - does anybody else think this? Birmans are supposed to be bigger than average.

Will they use a scratch post, or play much with toys or is it all a life of leisure!?

Thanks

I think Birmans are fairly similar to Persians. My friend had a Birman and he liked to sleep in the sink. My lazy Persians live their cat tree. It's a set of three steps. They use it all
The time. And one of them does use her beds. The other doesn't.

We have two birmans. Both use the scratch post daily and lounge around on the cat tree about every second day. One prefers smooth surfaces to textured ones, so prefers to be on top of some wooden shelves where she can stare out of the window at a bird feeder. Both can jump up about a meter and do so regularly. Both follow me around the house. One (about two years old now) is an insatiable player, who will bat balls of aluminium foil (her favorite) back at me with amazing accuracy for twenty minute sessions and will bring the balls to me when she wants to play. The other only wants a play session about every second day.

I think they need more toys Rather than less to keep them entertained if not going outside.

My Birman loves his big cat post with different platforms. He’s the same size as my non Birman. He uses his scratching post.....and sadly all my carpets which are now all wrecked.

We’ve had three birmans two blue points and a seal point beautiful pussycats ours had lots of toys I don’t know if you know but birmans give a little nip called the love bite nip lol when we used to stroke them if they wanted more they used to do it, I will add it’s not a hard bite it’s an affectionate nip, very very loving cats, all mine used to chase little balls and bring back to me and all when I said bedtime used to follow me upstairs to bed, I bet you are soo excited I couldn’t sleep leading up to when I picked mine up
