We adopted a gorgeous 6yo ginger tom on Tuesday. He is fantastic and just what we wanted. The only problem is that he wakes me up at 4am for breakfast and it's exhausting! He's currently being kept in but will go out when he has his next vaccs (vet's guidance). But that's not until the end of August. Is there anything I can do? He's on a very strict diet so I can't just leave extra food down. (I was very lucky to have had babies that sleep well and am not used to this and am shattered! ). Thanks in advance for any tips.

I was going to suggest leaving food out. Are you trying to get him to lose weight?

Does he have free access to the house? Ours are shut downstairs at night which limits their access to us and means we aren't disturbed as much.

Hi @dementedpixie yes - he weighs 8kilos!
