New carpet used as toilet

We had a new carpet fitted on our landing and stairs 3 months ago and I am at my wits end with the cat peeing on it. She is an 8 year old cat and has always used her litter tray with no issues. Since having the new carpet fitted she pee'd on it. I read somewhere that underlay has a smell to it which cat's like to pee on to cover or that they think this is where they go. I have scrubbed every time I have caught her but cannot say I have caught every area. I am using enzymes cleaner but she still uses spots all along the landing. I cannot shut her off from this area as she used the landing to go from room to room and the bathroom where the litter tray is. she lives upstairs mostly as the dog is downstairs and she hasn't found her big girl pants yet! The litter tray is scooped every day and cleaned once a week. This weekend I scrubbed the carpet top to bottom and put tin foil along the side she pees on as I read they don't like this, but with enough space for her to walk through. The foil has worked but one little spot I left uncovered by my bedroom door she pee'd on! She will go to the litter tray to do no.2 but pee's on carpet. She has no bladder infection or illness as she has been checked by vets. please help!!!!

Has anything changed within the household recently? Cats pick up on the slightest of things. For example, i'm due to give birth in 2 weeks and one cat is spraying everywhere and one is pooing in random places! They are obviously very stressed at the fact we have moved rooms around, brought in new furniture and changed what they originally loved as their little home. We spoke to the vet and he said about feliway plug ins and calming capsules to put in their food but no positive outcome as yet, just waiting for the day it all stops 😭

@Oldestchild90s yes the new carpet is a change, everything else is the same. I did use the pet remedy plug for a few weeks to think that may help but nothing. i think it is just down to the smell of the carpet and now she thinks this is where she goes!
On the feliway plug, i used this when we moved house a year ago and didn't have much effect, swapped to pet remedy plug and calming spray and within a matter of days she had chilled out and was so much happier. Feliway works for my mums cat though so i think they are all different
