How to stop cat scratching us?!

Our cat who is just over a year old sometimes gets a bit over excited when playing and launches to scratch us! I think it is that he is over excited and it’s not meant horribly but any tips of how to stop this?!

My cat sometimes catches me if I play with a small toy, if I use one like this she just grabs the actual toy.

Use toys like flirt poles or lasers so you direct their attention away from you 😊
