2 or 1??

I've just got my boy he is just over 10 weeks old (indoor cat) , he's an angel but I'm scared he's lonely or needs more socialising? I work from home so I am home 90% of the time and DP is the same although he goes out more for other things, I only live in a small flat and my income isn't the biggest. My friends just had kittens and they'll be ready to come to me by the time he is over four months (he will be neutered) is it a good idea to bring one of the other babies home?

Having two cats is just wonderful. As long as you can afford it and they are introduced carefully.

As kittens I think it's normally a good thing, we got one then another 6 weeks later and they adored each other. It made the initial kitten less aggressive too because they played together and burnt off their energy, then they'd cuddle up together after

Cats can be expensive. And they may not get on. We took on two sister kittens. They pretty much hate each other.

I've alway just had 1 cat until I had these 2.

One cat was easier, these 2 are the most destructive cats I've had. But they do love each other.

I grew up with a single cat, and late on was advised that they would be happier with two. I had 3 combinations of two cats (all a boy and a girl) and they always kept each other happy and warm in winter nights. I would guess they are happier....

I'm thinking about getting another boy? Theodore would be 4-5 months by the time the new baby is ready, I'm not afraid to keep Theodore on his own but he's an indoor cat and he can get very crazy and I'm afraid he might be depressed or lonely

Kittens do get crazy!
The issue is the long term cost and the lack of space if they don’t get on.
Can you afford to vaccinate and worm and flea treat and feed and insure two cats?

Why is he an indoor cat? I would get another my two use up their energy chasing each other.

I was planning to adopt 2 but costs are so much higher... when I added it up for both it was coming in at least £70 per month for both (insurance, health plans, food, litter).
Unfortunately that would be prohibitive for us so in the best interests of being able to keep them long term we have decided to adopt a single cat. Maybe we can adopt a second in future when finances allow.
I think they are happier in pairs.

My previously single house cat has really likes the kittens I got a year ago, and is especially close to one of them. They are always with each other. The other one does hang around with them sometimes, but often prefers to sit alone in a different room. I get the impression they all like the company of each other.

I had 2 brothers. Unfortunately they wanted their own territory and Barnaby made his near a slightly busier road .
Haribo is an only cat, he was one of 3 kittens. He's made friends with a cat a few doors away and they happily hang out together.
