Cat's gone on a hunting spree.

Previously docile cat has brought in 5 voles over the last 2 days.

We saved 4 of them, but one died. One was brought in dead.
I think she's found a nest and is plundering it.

Ugh. I'd have to burn the house down

We had 2 baby voles and then an adult on consecutive days

Also a bat

(& a couple of birds)

I’ve got 3 cats but only one kills afaik. His collar has 2 big loud bells, plus a smaller one, plus a metal ID tag; he does jingle a lot, which I hope reduces his kill rate, but it’s very depressing.

I have to clear 3-4 vole bodies/day off the patio. They got a greenfinch today. Am X about that. I need to add bells...

Mine have never been big hunters but we have had a vole and a sparrow this week. In 6 years we've only had one of each before (and the previous sparrow was unharmed).

These look like the big loud bells mine have - I’d recommend at least 2 on each collar!

Also Rogz collars with weight adjustable safety buckles seem to stay on pretty well but come off when necessary. The all-plastic are more hardwearing than the ones with fabric backs

I have three cats and one is a hunter. She is belled, but I also make sure I lock her in overnight. Her biggest success rate seems to be first thing in the morning. It doesn’t entirely stop her but it does seem to reduce the number of creatures she gets.
