Insurance

Hi, I've just had a renewal quote for our 2 year old cat of £27 a month which seems expensive.

Can I switch insurers? Only problem being back in 2018 he had lily poisoning which he received treatment for. He is fully recovered and healthy with no ongoing conditions but would this count as pre-existing condition?

Wish mine was only £27! Mines £75

The lily poisoning would be classed as an accident not a pre existing condition. £27 a month seems reasonable if it's a decent policy

I moved to Bought by Many after my renewal quote from Tesco increasd by a large amount

Shop around - mine increased year on year even though no claims - I now pay £5 a month per cat via Animal Friends - think I found them on comparethemarket

I've heard bad reviews for Animal Friends. Is the £5 policy a lifetime policy and how much is it for?
Ideally you need a lifetime policy so that if there is a condition you claim for it is not excluded afterwards

@dementedpixie

I've not had any issues with them but then again I haven't had to make a claim........I'm pretty sure that's for a lifetime policy

That sounds a lot to me. I have just started a lifetime cover plan for our 18 month old cat for £11 a month and that's with Petplan which wasn't the cheapest.

dementedpixie · 30/07/2020 08:47

I pay £21 per month for 2 cats with Bought by Many which is a lifetime policy for up to £15K per year each

Anyone use Sainsburys pet insurance and would recommend?

Sorry for the hijack!
