7+ cat food?

I have 3 cats:

female aged 8, 4 kg
female aged nearly 7, 4 kg
male aged 5, 7+ kg (half Bengal, large cat!)

They all eat Felix fishy pouches (2-3 daily between them, male gets most of it) and Royal Canin neutered young female biscuits which are always available.

Currently they’re all fit and healthy on this diet & I’m wondering if/when it might be necessary to switch to a 7+ wet and/or dry food. They’ll all eat the wet food from any dish so it would be hard to start feeding them different things Grin

Ours are female 14, 2x male 3, and female 2. Old girl only eats wet food and only Wiskas. Young girl only eats dry food. Boys will eat anything and everything - we have to feed them separately and keep the boys locked up till the girls have finished. It’s a full time job feeding the cats! As long as yours are all healthy I would feed them what they like. I’ve had cats for most of my 47 years and we never used to give them special food for their age.

My cat is soon to be 16, she’s still on adult Iams not the senior one - our vet said the only difference is less protein and not to bother.

Thanks, both, that’s very reassuring Smile

I would stick to what they like. My cat when I was growing up lived to about 24 years old and had eaten fairly bog standard cat food all his life! We tried changing our current cars food and she stopped eating altogether! We quickly changed back to her usual food and she is fine.

Eeek! That must have been alarming! Thanks, lori Smile

DCat is 10 and not on the senior food. He's happy with the normal stuff and knowing how fussy and fickle cats can be I don't want to risk changing it.

One of my cats is 11, he will only eat Whiskas pouches. I just get him the same ones every time and only recently realised that they had ages on them. He seems to switch between 1+ and 7+ depending what the shops have and doesn't seem any different on them, and they all look the same to me!

I wouldn't worry about it.
