Fighting my socks!

Just back from Costco - for anyone with an account 40 packs of Felix AGAIL, boxes of 12 packs of dreamies and catsan are all currently on offer.

Basil immediately decided to help with the putting away.

But you'd built him a lookout tower!

Mine are killing each other and impeding my ironing.

Mrs Grumpy is attempting to eat a cheese and tomato toasty in the living room. Basil has no intention of making her life easy

I thought Basil was the stable table.

I also noted that Mrs G. was using a knife and fork and in the manner taught in all good boarding schools. Either the Grumpy household is verrry posh or the knife and fork also function as anti-cat implements.

Good to see Sybil is providing reinforcements.

Hamish is loving his new cat cave. It is made in Kathmandu Nepal (yes really!) and is made of pure boiled wool. It has quite a sheepy smell but he loves it.

I hold my cutlery like that too, dm would be delighted to hear it’s It’s posh.

I've always thought that it was de rigueur to eat toasties with a knife and fork.
It prevents bits getting dropped on the cats.

Or, as Adam Smith would have said, 'the trickle-down effect'.

So Col did his disappearing over the fence and the shed at the bottom of the garden, yesterday. Took us ages to get him in but he seemed to like exploring. He did try to get through the gate in the garden at the back which leads onto a road so was keen to get him in

And on this mornings walk he did another runner and went exploring in four gardens. I gave up in the end and went and showered in case I h as to go knocking on neighbours doors. Luckily he was back on our stone wall by the time I went out

One thing I've realised is that Col just totally ignores us and no amount of Dreamies will entice him. Even his sprout failed

Sometimes you have to say a prayer to whatever deity you believe in and hope for the best. Nemo heads out the catflap and can be gone for a couple of hours. He comes home smelling of conifers and grass. Nemo does respect his curfew and comes in at dusk when we lock the catflap.

Tense cat keeping an eye on the toddler. To be fair dcat default mood is tense and anxious. He's settled down into a contented purr now (behind my legs where it's safe).

So he's been out this morning and headed straight for the spot in the stone wall where he can get through to the neighbours

He had a wander then came back to climb his tree...then came in all on his own

Buns has been in her cosy bed with her heat pad on for hours and hours, I keep having to check she isn't dead given her great age.

Kloppy's just back from the vet; I got home from work to find his left front leg was double the size of his other one Thankfully not broken, the vet said he was most likely stung by a scorpion 🙄 An x-ray and three injections later he's had his tea and is recuperating, brave soldier

Here he is washing his giant paw, doesn't seem to be bothering him too much though as he's now moved on to enthusiastically licking his bum

I hope Kloppy recovers asap.

We finally found a bed Hugo likes. He still follows us everywhere so if we leave the room he does too.

Kloppy must be quite silly to pick a fight with a scorpion! His paw looks like one of Popeye's forearms.

Popeye's forearm or one of those big foam hands that the Americans wear at ballgames The vet weighed him - 5.2kg, he's only a little cat although a stocky build Thankfully I went back to work on Monday after a month off so no more constant grazing, not just hoomans who've piled the weight on during lockdown
