Bengal scratching

We have had our 13 week ish Bengal for a week now. Tonight we have noticed that he has scratched the hair above his eyes and is starting to look slightly patchy there now. Breeder said to clean his ears with a wet wipe. We cut his nails a bit today so wonder if that will help? Is this common in kittens or is he stressed? I can add pictures in a bit. Thanks

Mine had less hair there as an adult, I never cleaned his ears though.

This is him with his patches.

Are his ears actually dirty?. It just looks normal to me because their furs so dense everywhere else it looks sparse over the ear area by comparison.

EmmaC78 · 30/06/2020 00:22

It looks normal to me too. Is it the same on both sides?

Cute kitten. I used to have a Bengal. I hope he came with earplugs Smile

@fluffycloudland77 I can see a couple of tiny specks in there. But that's it really.

OP I think you should send him to me so I can have a closer look cuddle him sooo much he's gorgeous 😍

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/06/2020 14:16

I’d leave it because cat ears self clean like ours do and you don’t need to help that process under normal circumstances.

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 30/06/2020 15:51

@EmmaC78
Yes it's the same both sides, apparently it can be common with them!?

Jesus Christ, a Bengal as a first cat?. Nothing like jumping in at the deep end 😹.

You’ll never have another breed though.

WildCherryBlossom · 30/06/2020 17:24

Thinner fur just in front of the ears is completely normal, often more noticeable with shorter fur.

Enjoy your beautiful kitten 😻

I've just taken a picture of dcat and his ear looks the same.

Mine has thinner fur in front of his ears, but doesn't scratch there. So it's all soft on his forehead, cheeks and nape, but kind of thinner and less soft before the ears.
