Moving a litter tray

I’m looking for some advice about moving a litter tray please. My cat is 11 and I’ve had her almost a year. She hardly ever uses the litter tray and only to pee. She much prefers to go outside. I would like to move it from my living room to the bathroom (same floor, rooms beside each other). Should I do this gradually or in one go? And should I just show her or leave it dirty for a bit so she can smell it? I don’t actually think she’s used it at all the past couple of months.
Thanks for any advice.

Following because I could have written your post! I want to move our litter tray - not sure whether to just do it or do it gradually.

We are moving in a few weeks and will face the same issue. What I have done in the past is move it straight away, leave used litter in it and actually physically lift your cat to the tray and place them in it. It shows them where it is and that its theirs.

Thanks, romdowa. Will try that.

Our kittens are seven months and mostly go out but we try and keep them in overnight so there's a litter tray indoors. Even before they started going out we moved it about a few times and they always found it and happily carried on using it.
