Cat licking lips over the top

My cat keeps licking her lips in a really over the top way. I was worried it was just a nervous thing as we've just had our first baby so it's a big change for her but should I be concerned it's something else?
She seems to be eating fine, her water goes down but she's a stealth drinker so I don't often catch her having a drink.
She sticks to me like glue normally and can't do that at the moment if she wants some peace.

I've heard in the past that licking lips can mean they are stressed - perhaps the new baby has unsettled her a bit? Does she have lots of places she can hide if she wants to, or high up places? If this is the reason I'm sure she'll go back to her usual self shortly, you may just need to give her a bit of time.

Another reason could possibly be her gums or teeth are sore, if she'll let you have a look at her gums and see if they're red or if her teeth have tarter build up, it could be that she'd benefit from a dental.

I hope she returns to her usual self soon!

She loves sleeping under the cot and as baby is in with us she's safe there. I know the crying upsets her though. My husband's got a vets appointment for this morning so hopefully we can get her checked over to make sure it's nothing mouth related.

Normally mine lick their lips excessively when they are going to be sick?

I found Zylkene was quite useful in stressful situations e.g. firework season. It comes in capsules but you can just open them & sprinkle the powder on their wet food, mine actually like the taste as well!
