As rescue centres are closed. Is advertising for kittens out of the question?

some rescue centres are reopening, so it is worth checking/putting your name down for a kitten

Try smaller rescues they are still managing to rehome. Put a request out on your local fb group and you should have loads to choose from. If your in the Midlands I can suggest a few.

Thanks, I'm down south.
I've just been scrolling through a list of local rescue centres and registering with some.

Ask local vets, some farms may have cats that have had kittens. Easier if you are in a rural area.

Celia Hammond are doing remote home checks and rehoming. The first few batches of kittens from this year’s kitten season are only now ready to rehome, and there’s a lot of demand so right at this moment you may be put on a waiting list but don’t abandon home and hit Gumtree, because if you register interest and come back in a few weeks then you will get to the top of the list.

I currently have an adorable mum and her fluffy kitten fostered in my spare room waiting for the perfect home, so I speak from experience.

Lots of centres are open. Celia Hammonds never closed. For example this sweetheart and her sister will be available in around 2 weeks ...

We just got a pair of young cats. Use the website CatChat, loads are still rehoming.

Cats protection league near us advertised on FB that they had some kittens to rehome so I applied. They rang and offered us one yesterday, we have a video call with them tomorrow and should have him by this time next week. They are doing it all remotely. Looking at their website I couldn't see our local one listed so definitely worth a call to yours.
I have 2 extremely excited daughters.

As someone who nearly was persuaded to go down the Gumtree route after a lifetime of rescues, due to an inpatient family, I’m very happy we waited... still 3 more weeks before they arrive though from our local rescue who is just restarting adoptions. Not looking forward to not having every window in the house wide open though!!
